This is a portafilter holder/tamping stand for the Timemore Sculptor grinders.
It holds a portafilter. It has a magnet in the bottom to snap to underneath the grinder, like the included catch cup does. It has a bottom to catch any drips, and vent holes so that any drips will evaporate.
The only STL included is specific to the Gaggia Classic portafilter. The height is tuned for the portafilter with a dosing funnel, for the 064S. This is designed as a configurable model in Onshape. If you have another configuration you'd like, let me know (or you can modify the Onshape model yourself). It takes a 12mm x 3mm magnet in the base. This magnet is just barely strong enough to center it with the weight of the portafilter, it may be worth using a larger magnet if you have one.
I've only used this for a few days at time of writing, so consider this a “beta”. I printed mine out of Fusion Filaments HTPLA, and it's holding up fine—it is slightly melted where the portafilter ears touch it, but it appears to have annealed, and hasn't changed since the first time I used it. A filament with a working temp of 75C+ is recommended.
Printing and Assembly:
Recommend using 3 perimeters. I also used 40% infill, to make it feel a little nicer in the hand. I also used ironing on all top surfaces.
When inserting the magnet, polarity matters. The base has a ring magnet - in one orientation, the base will center (correct), and in the other, it'll snap to a ring.
