Multicolor rings for Cryptex (single extruder)

Description

A remix for the letter rings of this beautiful Cryptex model.

Print Instructions

You can open the .3mf files as PrusaSlicer projects, or:

Print the rings with 0.2mm layer height, 0.4mm nozzle.

Print the letters with 0.1mm layer height, 0.25mm nozzle. Use 0.4mm nozzle (ideally with arachne perimeter generation) if you don't have 0.25mm. Add a color change where the letters start.

Assembly

Use CA glue/super glue to glue the letters on the ring.

The fit is pretty snug. If the fit isn't perfect then scale the letter model up or down a bit for a looser fit (e.g. 99.5 or 100.5%).

The letter rings are printed separately from the letters, so that:

• the letters can be printed flat with a small (slow) nozzle.
• the letters can be printed in a different color from the ring without the need for multiple extruders (i.e without MMU).
