Description

Let me introduce you the gingerbread Christmas train! Probably my most ambitious Christmas project to date!

The three wagons together are more than 600mm long. And it will be longer if you add more wagons!!!

I will say it right from the start, this one was a tough one for me! But i am totally in love with the result and i can't be more happy with the final look!!!

The reason it was so tough, its because i wanted to make it really easy for you. So i had a lot of work to do to make things clear, define orientations and prevent any confusion.

At a certain time, i had to redo a complete set of instructions because i made a mistake. With over 50 exploded views for the instructions in three different folders, its useless to say that it was a bit demanding. 😅

Like many other projects here:

-All the files are support free

-All the files can be printed with a regular printer

-All the files have color coded names with quantities
(Note: Files with two colors at the beginning of the name, like "White_Green -…) needs a color  change at height at the corresponding layer. The layer number will depends on your settings.  Preview the sliced file to determine the correct layer)

-Complete instructions with exploded views.

-All the files are already placed in the right orientation for printing

-Will fit on a Prusa Mini or BambuLab A1 Mini bed

-Can be illuminated with battery operated tealights.

There's a lot to say about this project, but most of the info has been included directly into the instructions. So read them carefully, don't hesitate to look a few steps ahead and (please) make some dry fit checks (without glue) during the whole project.

I strongly recommend that you make this project step by step, one item at a time. There's three parts in this project: The locomotive, the Candy Wagon (center) and the Wagon.

Start with the Wagon first. It will make the things much easier, and you will have some experience to do the candy wagon next.

For the signage and other multicolor files, all of them are made to be printed with some color change at height. So it is printable on any kind of printer. No need for a multicolor printer!

If you are not familiar with color changes at a specific height, send me a private message and i will help you with pleasure!

Note regarding the cab of the locomotive:

This part has tricky overhangs for the two front windows. If your printer doesnt like overhangs or the filament isnt well suited for overhangs, simply add custom tree supports on the two windows. But technically, they should print correctly as you can see on the picture with the individual locomotive parts.

THERE'S A SMALL HOLE INSIDE THE CHIMNEY!

Yep, and its there for a good reason: Insert a piece of steel wire into it and use some wadding (don't know if its the right term in english) to create a nice smoke column like my marvelous wife did on ours! The effect will be amazing, believe me!

Again, if you have any kind of questions, i'm always there to help you! Feel free to send me a private message at any time! 😊

Have fun, and happy holidays my friends!!!
