My son is really into Super Mario, right now, and I wanted to make him a unique Christmas present for his room! I got a bit carried away with the variety but the end result is fun and he absolutely loved them.
In order for these to really standout on the wall I highly recommend printing them on a textured build plate. The gold and silver silk filaments I used stood out and looked amazing using textured, but would look very dull if you use a flat surface. There are slots on the back of each of these that should fit command strips in to allow flush wall mounting.
Note 1: Regarding some of the prints having a 4th layer that is mostly in white filament: I mostly print with Overture PLA and have noticed that a lot of their colors are actually fairly opaque. In order to make the colors pop I would print a layer of white behind the 3 layers of color and it would work super well. As long as you print in at .2mm height this should happen automatically for you.
Note 2: A note about the “Super Mario” Text Logo in multiple colors: As mentioned above white was often needed for some of the more opaque colors to pop but this print already uses all 5 colors that most multi color systems support. I simply changed the yellow after its third layer of printing to white to make this work. I am sure you could modify the slicer to prompt for this if you want to.
