Replica of Gandalf's sword Glamdring featured in the LOTR movies.
This is a work in progress. As of initial publication some things are still missing or represented in simplified ways. The runes on the chamfered part of the hilt are not there yet as i struggle to find a correct truetype font that works with Fusion.
The size of the hilt fits the Minis plate precisely if you turn of the loops. Some part will print better with support. I split the hilt with handlebase and the handle with spiral in half to minimise the need for support, the rest can be printed in standing form without need of support. I cut the blade in 150mm segments. There is a 5.25mm channel running through the model intended for a 5mm carbonfiber tube or rod to give the assembled model some strength.
Update: Gcode for Mini added. The hilt is split in two sides with and without runes, they are identical in outer shape so you can mix to your liking.
Update 2: Solved the font problem, updated model of the hilt with complete writing (see new cover photo) coming as soon as i've testprinted the design.
Update 3: Updated the 3mf-file for the leafblade and the sliced file for the mini to have a correct channel running ‘all the way’… (as of 20241017:1600 CET). Thanks to @ElliotSoul_2079809 for the notice.
Added models for the hilt with complete writing on one side and for the base of the handle as a separate model. The runes are quite small for the writing to fit. This makes the prints on FDM printers tough to get ‘clear’ if the hilt is split and placed flat on the print bed to minimize need for support.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
