According to the Create® 3 robot docs, the robot features two surfaces on which you can attach whatever you need.

Given the fact that both surfaces are accesible from below, the bracket was designed to have as much footprint as the Raspberry Pi itself.

About the threaded inserts.

The model was assembled with Heat Threaded Inserts. In case you had never hear of them, here is a very detailed guide from CNC Kitchen

I am providing the exact measurements of the inserts that the model was designed for:

  • M3x4mm (x4)
  • M2.5x4mm (x4)

Longer inserts will not work.

About the bolts.

The following list contains all the necessary elements to assembly the bracket.

  • DIN7380 M3x6mm (x4)
  • DIN912 M2.5x6mm (x4)
  • DIN125 M3 (x4)

Assembly.

  1. Follow the guide provided earlier to insert the Heat Threaded Inserts in the part.
    • M2.5x4mm inserts go in the corners of the part, facing upwards as the part is printed in the original orientation.
    • M3x4mm inserts go in the inner holes of the part, facing downwards as the part is printed in the original orientation.
  2. Use the M2.5x6mm bolts (DIN912) to attach the Raspberry Pi to the bracket.
  3. Use the M3x6mm bolts (DIN7380) along with the M3 washers (DIN125) to attach the bracket to the payload surface you chose.
  4. Done!

Hope you find it useful. Cheers!
