EDIT First Release version available!
Parts updated to improve fit & function as well as to allow the USB C connector to be used without modification.
Also I've added two alignment tags on the lower edges of the front & mid sections to allow for a perfect fit when gluing them together!
I've also improved the latching tabs inside the mid section for the clip, & adjusted its fit so it now fully locks in & holds the Knomi 2 unit without any need for glue.
Plus I added angled release tabs if you need to remove the screen from the head.
PRE PRINT NOTE
This is a detailed, technical & difficult print that requires a well set up machine.
These files are tested accurate & perfectly functional & have a very good & tight fit!
ACCURACY & quality is very important here.
If your prints do not fit the Knomi 2 screen or to each other & things don't work correctly then I would 100% recommend refining your printer's setup & your slicer profile so its as good & accurate as possible. The problem is 100% not the files.
Please DO NOT leave a bad review because your print failed, looks bad, your supports are difficult to remove or your prints don't fit! The parts DO FIT!
Additional PRINT
Print mid section with supports for the internal overhangs but not for the 4 clip tabs, ensure your parts cooling is good. Make sure your printer is set up well & can produce accurate prints, some tolerances are 0.1-0.2mm
Additional ASSEMBLY
For best fit before applying glue to the front section, check the flat edge of your clip sits perfectly flush with the front edge go the mid section when inserted into position without the screen. SEE PHOTO. If not adjust your print with a hobby knife until it does, or reprint the clip & adjust the Z scale to suit.
For the best fit align mid & front alignment tags when gluing. If you do not the the screen will NOT fit the prints! THIS IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!!
The M2 heat inserts are optional.
ORIGINAL TEXT
These files are WORK IN PROGRESS! They are NOT FINISHED or fully tested!!
Im still waiting on my Knomi 2 screen to arrive but I just had to share this with you guys! Help me test & develop the model.
What does work in progress mean?
It means it's NOT FINISHED!
Stuff could well NOT FIT!! It could mean you need to adjust, cut, sand, file, glue your prints so they work together.
I've done a couple of test prints so I know the model parts fit to each other, but I don't know if the screen fits or how well it stays where it should.
I used the official BTT Knomi 2 model to base everything on so hopefully it'll be ok!
Either way please leave me constructive feedback with anything I need to change or fix & I'll do my best to make the changes while I wait for my screen to arrive!
SO DO NOT LEAVE A BAD REVIEW BECAUSE THE MODEL IS NOT FINISHED!
You print it understanding this & if something doesn't fit or work let me know & I'll fix it. Add photos & what you think needs work, but if you leave a crappy review that's not cool!
DUMMY 13
You will need to print a DUMMY 13 model at 250%!
Find that model here!

PRINT DUMMY 13 AT 250%!!!!
PARTS
x3 12mm M2 cap head bolts - optional
x3 M2 heat inserts - optional
CA glue
Your printer needs to be set up well & not be over extruding or have any other issues! This is highly detailed model with small tolerances!
Print all parts on flat faces & use supports on overhang areas, make sure your settings are good as they need to be removed cleanly. Print 0.2mm in PLA.
You shouldn't need any supports on the inside dome of the Helmet Back piece. Only on the overhang section near the bed.
ASSEMBLY
Add the heat inserts to the Helmet Mid model & use the CA glue to fix the Helmet Front model to the flat face of the Helmet Mid model.
IMPORTANT: Make sure that this is level with the model & not off at a funny angle, also make sure the edges on the bottom of the helmet are flush & that the is small lip on the top. SEE PHOTOS!!
If you don't do this then the screen WILL NOT LINE UP CORRECTLY!
You must setup & configure your Knomi 2 BEFORE you install it in the head!
Add the Knomi 2 screen to the inside of the Helmet Mid model USB socket first & angle it past the hump & then flip the screen up to vertical as it goes in.
Now try to insert the Helmet Clip to hold the screen in position.
YOU MAY NEED TO USE A DOT OF HOT GLUE - MAYBE
This is untested so please provide feedback here!
To install the rear helmet half. This is a real tight fit!
Run the Knomi power cable through the hole in the back. Attach to the screen.
Also don't forget to attach the Wifi antenna!! It should wedge into the rear of the head when installed.
You need to align the two halves so the slots in the REAR part are level with the middle of the “ears” on the MID part. Now work the lower side of the REAR slot Inside the “ears”, followed by the upper side of the slot. This will allow the case halves to snap together. SEE PHOTOS!
Now secure with the M2 bolts.
Slot the Assembled Knomi 2 Helmet onto the Dummy 13 Body, you should've printed one at 250%!
I recommend printing my stubby neck piece also to make the model look less like a Giraffe!
