Every year since I got into printing I have made a photo ornament to insert a photo of my kids into to give to family members at Christmas. This year I let my kids each choose a design idea around the theme of using their face as the face of something and made individual ornaments per child. One of the kids picked Snowman/Frosty and this is what i came up with.
I printed each part in PLA with the outside surface down so that it came glossy and smooth off the glass and it looks nice. Each parts has reference pegs to help align them on the back plate. they are not tight and will not snap together. I used E6000 glue to assemble. These are easy to group in your slicer and bulk print a handful in not a lot of time. parts are ~1.5mm thick and I printed them so they are solid, 100% infill. Make sure you print them peg/hole side up except for the scarf which does not have pegs. I used settings in my slicer to change filament part way through so that I could have two-colored stripes without so many individual pieces. The scarf and hat band can be printed in any color combo.
Also included is a print to use as a template to mark and cut the photo insert. I printed it, lined up the template on a 2x3 wallet sized photo and marked with a fine tip pen then cut with scissors. made it easy to drop the photo into the recess of the face part.
