This was inspired by the original Laundry Detergent Cup Drain and modeled from scratch in Fusion 360. As is, it fits the new Tide bottle, but the model is fully parametric and therefore can be adjusted to fit other detergent brands. It uses 40% less filament and about the same in printing time than the original.

It has added drain "lip" to prevent leaking back out.

I would recommend printing with PETG for durability and with supports (both bed and model). Set the angle threshold for supports to less than 45 degrees. The only part that really needs support is the screw on cap. I have accidentally printed without supports an it worked, though I would not recommend it - might not work for all variants or printer.

Unfortunately thingiverse deleted my detailed instructions on how to print with the least amount of plastic and support.

The gist is: the model has three objects, the holder, the rotating cap that screws onto a bottle and the then there is an insert that is made to both print in place (uses more plastic) or be used as a support blocker. If you don't know how to use an object as a support blocker the model will print as is as long as you use supports. Although I have accidentally printed it without supports and it was ok, but I would not recommend doing that.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

This was inspired by the the Laundry Detergent Cup Drain but it was modeled from scratch in Fusion 360 with many improvements to the original design. Model was parametrized to be easily converted for other brands. It has a “lip” to prevent leakage of detergent. It is made to be printed with considerable less plastic.
