Description

PDF

When I saw the laser cut “hammer joint” shown in the reference, I just knew I had to try it as a 3D print, so I created this test version in PLA.

Assembly

Assembly of the joint is straightforward : Place the hole in the Top piece over the tenon until it seats fully, then tap the tenon wedge down flush ( a “soft” hammer is recomended).

Print Instructions

Print in PLA using the 3mf file provided; otherwise :

  • 2 perimeters
  • 15% gyroid infill

CAD

The OnShape 3D CAD files for this are here :

Model origin

The author remixed this model.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

This is essentially a 3D printed version of the laser cut “hammer joint” shown in the reference. I did not make an exact copy the design in the reference; instead I created a new 3D CAD version based on the same idea.
