To combat 'knocking' noises I was experiencing from high-friction rolls of filament jumping on the spool holder.

I've been having an issue where the friction between the spool and the holder would cause the spool to jump as filament was pulled off of it, making a bumping noise not unlike the nozzle colliding with Z-zits on the print. Designed this to fit around the spool holder and add a low-friction surface for the spool to roll on, and so far it seems to have done the trick!

Prints in two halves with indexing to line them up. I just epoxied them together in situ and clamped them in place.

Print Settings

  • Layer height: 0.2
  • Infill: 15% cubic
  • Filament brand: Ziro
  • Filament color: Purple
  • Filament material: PLA
  • Notes: Benefits from a layer of glue-stick due to small footprint.

I turned it upside-down in the slicer so the movements for the debossed text would put less levering force on the print, I'd recommend doing the same. Final assembly can be done with epoxy or superglue to your preference.
