Screwdriver/tool Holder Clip for DIN Rail

Recently I made a modular screwdriver holder for use on pegboard (see re-mixes). I was asked whether the hanger clips used in that project could be used on DIN rail. Since they could not, I decided to make a similar clip for use  with DIN rail.  This clip (used in pairs) can be used with DIN rail on pegboard, using the pegboard screws for DIN rail I created earlier (see re-mixes), and of course can also be used with DIN rail that is screwed down to a wall.

Update May 26, 2021 :

• The clips I published earlier work well with 3D print “DIN rail." Since creating that print, I acquired some metal DIN rail and found that the clips do not work well with “real” DIN rail
• Consequently, I made a slight modification (flagged as DIN3 in the included files); the new clip is just 0.5mm longer than the old clip, but that small difference is significant in this case.

To use the holders, simply hook the top groove onto the DIN rail then squeeze the top and bottom of the holder to clip it onto the bottom of the DIN rail.  Squeeze the bottom tab to remove the holder from the rail.

The photos show a small section of the DIN rail holders, together with the modular screwdriver holder I made previously (in the background). I used plastic DIN rail for test purposes, not having any metal DIN rail on hand.

Print Instructions

Print in PLA using the 3mf files provided.

The holders are used in pairs. I recommend printing pairs in different colors, and alternating colors to make each pair stand out.

DIN2 works with plastic printed DIN rail.

DIN3 works with actual metal DIN rail.
