PWR POD Dyson Battery Adapter

There are adapters available on Amazon that allow you to use your cordless tool batteries with your Dyson. Unfortunately the Canadian Tire/PWR POD/Mastercraft batteries aren't supported, so I decided to re-design just a portion of the pre-made adapters to work with this brand of battery.

I purchased the Dewalt adapter for my Dyson V8 vacuum. Though based on the design of the adapters I believe this mod will work for most of the adapters (Ryobi looks like too different to work). It appears the maker of these adapters wanted to reduce production cost so the Dyson side of things is the same, and there are just inserts for the various battery brands. I haven't tested this theory though, so if you want to be safe, you should order the Dewalt one for this mod.

Should be compatible with batteries from PWR POD, Mastercraft, Simoniz, MotoMaster, Yardworks, Woods, and Outbound.

Printing

Prints standing up without the need for supports, but does depend on minor bridging. Files should already be oriented correctly, but I've included a photo for reference.

Assembly

• Assemble the printed adapter with 3 M3 screws (10-15mm length).
• Disassemble the Dyson adapter by removing the three screw on the side.
• Remove the bottom battery portion.
• Unscrew the battery terminals.
• Using the same screws, install these battery terminals into your printed part. (Be mindful of polarity +/-)
• Re-assemble the Dyson adapter with your new printed bottom battery portion.
