It is made of Nylon with a small TPE shell, 6 parts in total being one in TPE everything in Nylon. Nylon was used as it has some flex, it’s strong and impact resistant. Did print with 5 walls, 5 top/bottom solid laters and 40% infill.

It does use 2mm balls combined with 9.5mm balls bought from Amazon, it works like a ball transfer (search for this and you’ll see how similar it is)

I did use JB Weld plastic bonder for glueing it, it does have some rubbery feel once cured meaning it allows some flex which is important, it is listed as recommended for Nylon and other plastics.

Assembly steps were:

Mount 8 2mm balls with one 9.5mm ball on each hole for the ball transfer part.

Press fit that on the outer shell. Before press fitting, add epoxy to the bearing ring walls, this will seal the bearing case as epoxy is pressed in the opposite direction. This is important as when glueing the puck together you want to prevent epoxy from finding its way to the bearings.

Sand/clean any excess and then add epoxy to the 2 outer pieces with bearings and its middle piece that helps fit it all together. I did use some masking take to protect the part which is not being covered by the rubber band at the end.

I did use a vacuum pot for removing bubbles, see pictures, as I have one, maybe not required but keep in mind the puck will be as strong as it’s weakest part and bubbles and excess epoxy will make the part less strong. Clamp well and avoid air. I did add vacuum 2-3 times and wiped out the excess epoxy to make it easier cleaning latter and then let the part cure in vacuum for 30 minutes.

Last picture is how the part looks with the removed excess resin and light sanding, it’s glued well together.

First picture is with the rubber (TPE) band. Covering kids name as puck is customized for each kid.
