Introduction
- This is a vent flap for the use with 92mm PC-fans.
- This flap has the advantage, that it doesn't need space behind it for the flap movement.
- It can be mounted directly on a vent mesh or in a vent system.
Building Instruction
Needed Material
- 1 x Housing_92mm
- 4 x Flap_92mm
- 1 x PC-fan 92mm
- 4 x screws 4,5 x (fan_thickness + 10) mm
- Some spare filament
Printing instructions
- Print the Housing with the mounting tabs down.
- Print the Flaps with the completely flat side down.
- Print with no support (the steepest angels are ~35°).
Assembly
- Drill the holes in the flaps to 1,7mm.
- Drill the small holes in the housing to 2,0mm.
- Push some filament in the first hole of each flap (use some pliers for easier insertion).
- Feed the filament through the hole in the housing (be aware of the orientation).
- Push some more filament through the housing into the flap to fixate it.
- Trim the excess filament flush.
- Test for free movement of individual flaps and the end-stops should work.
- Mount the fan with the screws, so that it blows into the flaps.
- Test the fan and check, if the flaps are moving the right way.
