UPDATE 12-23-2023: Finished testing and polishing design of alternative cooling system “Wasp Fangs Quad 5015” with adjustable cooling flow angle and better view of print area.

UPDATE: Added version “E” with 1mm taller output (42mm X 15mm) for more tight fit into mount brace.

Banded Krait - is beautiful and extremely dangerous large poisonous snake. I think I'm a bit obsessed by its alerting color patterns and shapes, often included into print works. I even named my EN3P - "Krait" : )

Today I finished designing and polishing more effective, powerful and most important - significantly quieter solution of hotend cooling. It's involving dual 5015 blowing turbo fans powered by DC buck 12V or lower output, though delivering dramatically better cooling performance comparing to stock 4010 turbo fan (which is loud as hell).

Custom designed dual fan duct has shape of snake head printed in black with alerting yellow accents. This "snake" is able to bite two standard 24V 5015 turbo fans - there are two side sockets 15mm tall. Duct is bended to 45 degrees for better view of print process (and more natural aggressive snake pose). Fans are sliding in for a tight fit and no extra mount necessary. Duct output is 42mm X 14mm with 1.2mm walls and three integrated sockets for EN3P stock metal mount brace. Model is optimized for printing with output duct facing down, use tree support touching build plate.

I'll need to work on fans wiring to better locate them. The 24V>12V buck with voltage display is located on horizontal rail, wires are hidden in the head cable casing - one pair comes from fan 24V output to buck converter, other pair is returning back and connected to dual 5015 fans in Krait's mouth. In this way I can easily control voltage to increase or decrease dual fans power. They work much quieter than PSU fan in 12V mode and that doubled air flow keeps heatsink cool.

UPDATE: I relocated buck converter inside printer near mainboard. There is a fan wire connector on mainboard, which I connected to buck converter input, and output of buck converter is connected to wired going to printhead, so stock wiring of printhead can be used to power up heatsink coolers.

This hotend cooling mod is made compatible with another dual set of 5015 turbo fans for pars cooling created by @HenthornePoet_698935 : https://www.printables.com/model/513904-neptune-3-pro-open-face-dual-5015-fan-duct-v2

(Previously I tried to use quiet 60mm Noctua direct fan with custom duct for cooling - but that cooling performance was miserably low. It's time to move that Noctua fan to replace PSU fan, which will make overall printing even more quiet.)

NOTE: After using Banded Krait for a while I was looking for the way to reduce the front view obstruction. It resulted in designing alternative and adjustable cooling system involving 4 turbo fans located differently - Wasp Fangs Quad 5015
