Our house is, apparently, partially invisible to food delivery drivers. To combat confused drives, and the risk of cold food, I designed this “Food Light.”

This beacon for food delivery drivers is powered by a small portable usb power pack which drives the LED lights (with IR remote - bought in a cheap kit).

I've designed it so the box is universal, and the faceplate can be replaced with whatever you prefer.

I didn't like the look of a thin layer of PLA in the window, so I re-designed it with this window cutout. I then cut a small sheet of PETG and glue it on (rubber cement) to create a more translucent window.

Mine is printed in white, which allows some light to leak through and expose the infill, but any colour (grey etc) will block all light and create a very stark light.

Finally, I'm happy to report that it really works! There's something about how our address is stored in geolocation data; half of our deliveries are VERY late because the drivers report they couldn't find our place. One driver thanked us for the light. “I knew it was you right away!”

Cheers!
