Probably a very niche use case, but my wife and I are sometimes sensitive to light, and in an otherwise dark room, the nest thermostat can light things up when we are trying to stay in the dark. I had recently bought some spray paints that I wanted to try, so I designed this cover to sit atop the Nest, and use as a testbed for my new paints. Here I've coated the raw print with a few layers of UV resin, cured it, then primed the print with spray-on primer, and used metallic acrylic paint and an airbrush for a silver finish. I finished with a few layers of clear coat for a nice, smooth, and hard texture.
