Slender Moonlander thumb cluster leg

My take on the extra leg for the Moonlander keyboard. Accepts an 8mm round self-adhesive anti-slip foot thingy.

Designed from scratch to be a bit more slender and sleek than some other designs which are great but look a little over-chunky for my personal taste - but you may prefer them, so do have a look:

Also, my design seeks to put pressure only on the rim of metal “cup” that's inside the joint on the keyboard, in the same way that the bolt does when no leg is added. Excess pressure on the plastic around the cup, where pressure is not normally expected, might cause damage.

The slender design is still perfectly strong for normal keyboard use. It might flex a little if you really thump your keyboard, but who would do such a thing to a Moonlander? 😉

Printing

Use of the attached 3mf (or gcode) is recommended as some settings are customized.

Needs support from print bed only. I normally aim to design without support material, but it's a very small model, and it's a very small amount of support material. The underside (in print orientation) has a recess in the supported face of the leg so that most bridging inconsistencies that might occur are hidden when the leg is seen side-on. The support comes off pretty easily.

The little flat lip at the foot end is support material (a mini brim), remove after printing.

Printed in Prusament Pearl Mouse - which is quite close to the colour of the original Moonlander leg. PrusaSlicer 0.15mm QUALITY profile, 3 perimeters, enable “Detect bridging perimeters”, 20% gyroid infill.

For comparison, here it is side-by-side with model 53116 linked above:
