What Does This Do?

This is a little bracket you can use to mount a typical tripod head with ¼" threads to some vertical thing with a 3mm hole in it. It was designed for mounting a webcam in the Prusa Enclosure, where it can easily be fixed to one of the vertical profiles.

Parts and Assembly

Besides the printed part, you need the following bits and pieces:

  • One ¼" UNC 20 screw, length ½"
  • One M3x8 screw (longer ones will work fine, too)
  • One M3 hexnut
  • One tripod head with ¼" threading

If you are in a place where freedom units are not used, search Amazon for the proper screw, possibly by specifying something like "1/4" UNC 20" or “camera mount screw” as a search term. You can also get cheap tripod heads there.

Just push the hexnut into the recess on the inside of the part, attach your tripod head using the ¼" screw and then use the M3 screw to attach the whole thing to something that has a fitting hole, e.g. a vertical profile of the Prusa Enclosure.
