Printer Settings:
Ender 3 v2 Neo
Sunlu PLA (cheapest i had)
0.2mm layer height
infill 20%
Parts required:
Download the Chain link, the Y axis mount and the YZ endcap from the original model
if you alternate the chain links you don't need the support clips.
you'll need to print 23 chain links for the XZ cable, 13 for the Bed cable and 13 for the Hotend cable.
Assembly:
Route the cables from their original position to the side of the printer
Mount the YZ endcap on the bottom rail
Mount the XY support in the extruder tab and tie it
Separate the bowden tube from the cables.
Fit the Hotend clip on the bearing axles
Remove the Heated Bed cap (cut the ziptie and remove the cap) and replace it with the Y axis connector
Build the chains from connector to connector alternating the link direction, be mindful of the cable twistings.
Observations:
The X axis chain suports the weight pretty well and keeps alignment.
Build the chain separetedly and play with it a little to find some rough links and clean them (specially if you print it cheaply like i did)
use frog tabs as supports for the chain links, the tips can easily warp
The author remixed this model.
The original model by Suddoku includes a mounting point that goes under the extruder motor, that mount is very sensitive to tolerances and breaks easily, visible inmediately on the photos.
made a new mounting point that uses the little metal tab on top of the extruder to mount the XY axis chain using 2 zipties, and adds a mounting point for a different orientation of the X chain without using a tray
Simplified the Hotend mounting point to use a single part.
Requires less complex parts and lower tolerances
reduced from 9 to 5 different parts.
