This LED Lithophane Globe contains 4 Nativity Scenes.  It has a compartment to house a remote control LED light.

About the Origins of this LED Globe:

  • The lithophane was generated using the awesome Lithophane Maker website.
  • The four images are stitched together and generated using DALL-E (asked for children's illustration of nativities in four different locations - see if you can decipher these).
  • The bottom of the globe was cut so that it is two parts to house the 70mm (2.76") diameter remote controlled LED lights.

How to Print and Assemble:

  • No supports needed.
  • Print the two parts (top and bottom) at a layer height of 0.12mm and 6 walls.  Use white PLA (or PETG).  I used SUNLU white PLA (about 170g and 20 hours print).
  • Acquire from Amazon or somewhere else the 70mm (2.76") diameter remote controlled LED lights.
  • The LED is a pressure fit.  Place the LED light with the LED's pointing inside towards the inside of the sphere, remember to put 3 AAA batteries.
  • Put the bottom print into the assembly.
  • Use the remote control to turn on and off.
  • NOTE: You can print the bottom (smaller part) first to size your LED light before printing the globe. I set the tolerances to have a snug fit in PLA, but this may depend on your printer settings as well.  So it doesn't hurt to print the smaller part first.

Special thanks to the Lithophane Maker website and DALL-E for making this Nativity Globe possible.
