I wanted to utilize better the space I have to display the model cars I've built over the years. I also wanted to work within the constraints of the MK3 printer, which meant parts couldn't be larger than I could print in that volume.

So, out of those constraints came a module system of vertical supports and horizontal ramps. These press-fit together and allow, in theory, for unlimited stacking, but I'm only brave enough to stack three high. To that end, I designed a piece you can print for the topmost display position.

I predominantly focus on 1/24 and 1/25 scale models thus, these accommodate the scale.

Tips

  • Sliced files are for site metrics only.
  • Tolerances are intentionally tight in order to make for a friction fit.
  • These look best printed with a .4mm nozzle, but you could print them a lot faster with a .8mm.
  • I can't recommend using Diecast cars with these. I'm not sure how well they'd be able to support that kind of weight.
Note

In the picture you can see a different ramp design, I abandoned the diamond pattern because it added an inordinate amount of time to printing.
