I found this amazing model for a simple Nintendo Switch Pro controller. It had so many likes and makes that I just assumed it worked and fit perfectly. It did!!! I left the main body totally unaltered. But I wanted to add a wall mount and also some glow in the dark Zonai lettering.
I always try to make stuff that will have a high degree of printing success on stock settings. To achieve this I rotated the model on it's back, made a wall mount. It's important for me that the mounting holes are very accessible due to my arthritic fingers. But to hide my oversized accessible holes I made an oversized accessible plug.
I wanted to make sure the topmost layer of this was ONLY letters so that you can paint it with filament or actual paint or whatever. TBH Glow in the Dark is NOT worth the hassle for most people. The consensus on the Internet seems to be that you will need to swap out a brass model for every roll of the stuff you go through.
This stuff is all in the series of decor improvements for my kids room and I'll be posting some more stuff from the same series.
Note that I printed the first version w Lightning infill and had some minor surface imperfections but thats more than good enough for me. In these cases, I’ll just spray paint on some clear varnish and call it done.
Background on me and why I do this:
My name is Andreas and I have lived the first half of my life in the US and the second half in Sweden. I contracted Reumatoid Arthritis when I was 19 years old and I am primarily using 3D printing and design to make my life easier. I am a single dad of 2 boys going through a horrendous divorce and a boatload of medical problems so if you like my designs or if I saved you a trip to Home Depot or Biltema, then please consider donating on my Paypal page here
All proceeds will go to my divorce lawyer.
