This is project inspired by the ABR (Adjustable Bar Rider that is available for sale. The price of the bag rider is between 250 and 300$ which was way outside of my budget.
I was able to take insperation from the existing product and make my own 3D Printable version of it. The total cost is around 40$.
Materials Required:
-Two, LM8UU Linear Bearings. (uxcell LM8UU Linear Ball Bearings 8mm Bore 15mm OD 24mm Length for CNC Machine 3D Printer 4pcs: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific)(This pack has 4)
-Two 8mm linear rods (ReliaBot 2PCs 8mm x 100mm (.315 x 3.94 inches) Case Hardened Chrome Plated Linear Motion Rod Shaft Guide - Metric h8 Tolerance: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific) (This pack also has two)
-One 5/6-18 threaded rod (5/16"-18 Fully Threaded Rod Studs 2 Pack Long Threaded Screw 304 Stainless Steel Right Hand Threads All Threaded Rod Studs for Anchor Bolts Clamps Hangers U-Bolts: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific)(This pack has two but you only need one)
-One 5/16-18 Nut (Amazon.com: Hard-to-Find Fastener 014973241735 Midwest Hex Nut, 5/16-18, Zinc Plated, 100 : Industrial & Scientific) (This is a pack of 50 but its not too pricy)
This next part is only one I had to get for my rifle it may vary depending on your stock and how it will attatch. I have a Christinsian arms MPR
-two #10-32 x 1inch flat head screws. (I picked these up from a local hardware store)
ASSEMBLY
Printed in PETG, id would recommend 20% or higher infill. (Depends how big your head is)
Cut the linear rods and threaded rod to the required length (Again this may vary depending on the rifle and the space above the rider that is available. I cut mine to around 2.8 inches long
Next use a bench vice to press the linear bearings into the fixed housing. Only press until they are flush with the side.
Again use a bench vice to press the nut into the knob.
Press the cut linear rods into the foot. (press until they are the same length at the top)
Thread the threaded rod into the foot.
Attatch the fixed portion to the rifle.
Slide the knob into the slot on the fixed part
Side the foot and align the linear rods and screw
Turn the knob until it catches the screw and starts to pull it up.
YAY its done now go send some lead down range.

Uses metric nuts and bolts
Wisdom tooth not included
Print it in PETG for a stronger part
Uses M3 nut and M3x30mm (or longer) bolt
