Customisable foot support for your shoes. Load it up in Fusion360 and adjust for your feet.

I have quite a big hollow foot so I have started to use this kind of things. And why buy expensive inserts when you can print your own.

Measuring instructions

It takes some effort to get it right though. I started with getting the base sketch parametrized and the mid sketch plane support. Start with measuring your base length/width and where the inner hump should start.

I used first a heat camera to see the actual footprint. But that was overkill. Just hold a book on your foot and just look at it. Use a ruler and figure out:
1) Length
2) Width
3) Position for the inner “hump” ('Base_Inner_Offset")

Then you can start next step which is defining the height…

4) Top plane distance ('Top_Plane_Distance')
5) "Outer height" which is ‘Mid_Outer_Height’
6) “Inner height” which is ‘Mid_Inner_Height’
(these two heights define the angle of the mid plane towards inside the foot.
7) The angle towards the heel is the other parameter: ‘Mid_Plane_Angle’

After that, you have to adjust the slopes and curvature of the mid/top part. This is actually quite cumbersome so I did NOT make parameters for this. Too hard to understand what is going on then. Personally I just adjusted by eye.

8) Mid sketch: Adjust the position of the “hump”, position of all the radiuses.
9) Top sketch: Same procedure as mid sketch.

You want to position the sketches outer rims so that they line up, otherwise there will be wrong slope inwards. Make sure to not disturb the loft feature. It might have been wiser using rails here but I did like this instead.

If you want to fine adjust some radius, feel free to explore the full parameters list. I have named to below logic.

Print Instructions

I used TPU with hardness of shore 95A, infill 25%. Used manufacturers printer profile, no idea what settings there are but it worked very well, have tried both 0.6 and 0.8 mm nozzle. This one is 0.8 nozzle.
