Didn't post any models for quite some time now … but they are still piling up :) … I want to continue sharing them … I am not sure there are other robot enthusiasts out there like me … but if you are … more models will come up soon.
This specific model originates from the 1980ies anime series “Captain Future”. Grag is part of Captain Future's crew of the spaceship “Comet”.
Due to its rather simple design it was perfect for coloring. So this is the second figure I printed on my new XL with five tools.
When you count carefully, there are actually 7 colors ;) … but with different prints of course.
As usual credit goes to the artist “dasunmadushanka” over on Fiverr. I am no artist whatsoever. But the model was created on my prupose. So it is filed as “own model” since I have the rights on it. When you want to check the artinst's Fiverr page head to: https://fiverr.com/share/L9gp5p
I continued to print all my multi part projects with simple holes in the surfaces and use wooden plugs to align and connect them. That worked out pretty well for me and is a kind of preferred workflow. This way I can keep flat surfaces for easy printing … Supports are needed nevertheless … I am getting better in cutting and placing the objects, but still …
I also tried organic support structures .. but they use up way more build area and in the tries I did the contact layers were quite hard to remove … much harder than with old style supports .. Maybe I need to tweak the settings, but since I am happy with the old structures … I stayed there for the time beeing. But feel free to change the settings to your likings.
For Printing a usually chooese quite strong settings since I made the experience that printing such larg figures make thin walls and low infills very fragile. But all 3mf files are included as well. So change the settings to your preferences to make the print faster & cheaper or even tougher :) …
Have fun.
