Any time is a good time for a Stroopwafel when you have a Stroopwafel World Clock!
Stroopwafels seem to be a rising trend within the 3D printing community on Twitter, with Stroopwafel World (@StroopwafelW) following—and being followed by—many of us.
A Stroopwafel, for those unfamiliar with them, is a sort of a sandwich cookie made from two thin waffles with a creamy caramel filling. By placing one over the top of a cup of coffee for a minute or two, the coffee warms the Stroopwafel, makes the caramel filling nice and gooey, and generally enhances the whole experience.
Perhaps the reason we in the 3D printing community enjoy them so much is because of the Stroopwafel 3D Connection:
(See what I did there? Three Ds? #DadJokes)
The basis for this model is the Stroopwafel World logo, modeled by Insypre 3D, and available here: https://gumroad.com/l/liDFd
I wanted to add:
Please follow Insypre 3D (@chris_frieze) and Stroopwafel World (@StroopwafelW) on Twitter.
And if you can't find Stroopwafels locally, you can get authentic Dutch Stroopwafels from the Netherlands (with shipping to the whole Stroopwafel World!) at https://www.stroopwafelworld.com.
This project will require an inexpensive clock mechanism.
The clock hanger should be printed on its side. If you are confident in your printer's ability to bridge, supports should be unnecessary. You might want them in the hanger holes if you're not sure.
The clock face is thin—only about 2 layers at 0.2mm layer height. So be careful when removing it from your build plate.
I printed in three colors by pausing and swapping filament as the file was being printed.
*Added separated parts so each color can be printed individually.
Don't forget the trick of rotating a print 45 degrees around the Z axis to get it to fit on a smaller build plate!
This remix includes the original complete clock model and original hanger. I added the seperated sections of the clock. Remixed from bkvines model on Thingiverse.
The author remixed this model.
Seperated original model so that each color can be printed individually without having to insert pauses into gcode.
