These brackets allow the simple installation of 4x 3.5" HDDs into the Dan Case A4-SFX case. The power supply and power supply bracket need to be removed and a small alternate power supply will need to be used (Likely blocking the PCIe slot meant to be used for the graphics card). I used the Silverstone FlexATX 350W supply, but many others should fit.
Notes:
- Mounting the drives upside-down allows for easy access to the SATA and power connections above as well as leaving just enough space for a 92mm slim fan to blow air up on them. But the brackets can be flipped if the other orientation is desired.
- The front USB connector will need to be removed for the ‘upside-down’ configuration. I'm working on a replacement LED indicator light design for the empty front hole this creates.
- The large single piece bracket should be installed first, then the drives, then the two split brackets. This means removing/swapping drives does take a bit of work (14x screws to remove a single drive, not including the 10x external panel screws), but I don't expect many people do this terribly often.
- Extra holes are provided to mount the drives in two different orientations, mix and match however desired.
Extra Hardware needed:
8x M3 nuts, need to be pressed into the brackets
8x M3x6 countersunk machine screws to attach the brackets to the case
16x #6-32x1/4 countersunk machine screws to attach drives to the bracket
