Silicone Mat Work Light

Silicone Mat Work Light v1

This simple model adds a light to your silicone work mat, it makes use of the part trays and a cheap joby style tripod shoe.

My part tray dimensions were 41 x 35 x 12mm.

Materials

• Silicone work mat
• Example tripod (you can get these for much cheaper)
• M4 x 12mm nuts and bolts
• M3 x 8mm nut and bolt
• Phone ring light (82mm ⌀)

Assembly Instructions 

1. Insert an M4 x 12mm bolt in the bottom of the base print with an M4 nut inserted in the slot at top of the print.
2. Disconnect a section of one of the tripod legs and drill a 4mm hole, place it over the bolt and added another M4 nut to secure.
3. Disconnect the tripod shoe and and drill a 3mm hole, insert a M3 nut in the light body and screw the shoe and light body together. 

The diffuser is optional depending on how bright your light is. I desoldered the ring light from the small circuit board and am powering it directly from my bench power supply.
