Got a small form factor office PC that you want to turn into a gaming rig? I got you.

This is is my mount that I made in about 10 minutes in TinkerCAD to mount a GPU to the outside of my Lenovo M720s computer.

The GPU pictured is a second hand Gigabyte 1050ti that I got super cheap on eBay.

I am using a thermaltake PCI extension ribbon from Amazon.
Thermaltake PCI-E 3.0 Gaming PC Modding X16 Riser Flexible Cable Upgraded, 2 Years Warranty, EMI Shielding Cover, - Black 200mm AC-053-CN1OTN-C1 : Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories

Instructions:

  • Print all the parts.
  • Make a cut in the lid of your case just over the where the PCI slot is (hack saw or tin snips), it does not have to be perfect as I made a cover to hide your shame and protect the cable.
  • Glue the shroud over the cut using super glue.
  • Attach the PCI cable to the motherboard and route through the slot.
  • Attach the GPU mounting bracket to the GPU then line it up with the slot and cable and glue it to the lid as well.
  • Next using a couple of the board supports, support the end of the GPU by gluing these to the lid as well (see pic).
  • Attach the PCI cable to the GPU.
  • You shall ride eternal. Shiny, and chrome!
