Summary Section: This nameplate skillfully blends a concise introduction with a deep understanding and interest in sciences. The customizable dimensions of the Periodic Placard transcend its role as a mere title, transforming it into a unique addition to any desk. I was able to work on this project with Shalu David.
Lesson Plan/Activity: With a partner, you will design a “2D” placard using SolidWorks. You and your partner will have the same design which meets the constraints below, and you will EACH use SolidWorks to create your design.
Assembly Instructions:
2. Put the light blue Brialu text into the dark blue background.
3. In the two holes of the “B” and the hole in the “A”, place the three dark blue small pieces for the background.
4. Put the light blue Bromine, Iodine, Aluminium, Uranium texts, and numbers into the dark blue background.
5. Insert the design into the dish. Make sure you push it but not too hard until you hear the popping sounds which means that it was able to fit inside.
Design Choices:
We designed the dish with the idea of using the periodic table names for each element we did, but for some of the letters like M, N, R we had to trim off some of the lines and remake them so that it doesn't give us an error. For the R, we had to trim off the curves and remake them by putting a 2-point arch.
We created a stand, by using the extruded boss base so that it could hold the dish.
The author marked this model as their own original creation.
