i didn't like having to clean my vacuum pump if i opened the valve too fast, so i made this. keeps your liquids in their containers.
tl;dr: hot set vacuum gauge nut into your favorite plastic during a pause, free palestine
loose instructions:
- pick your nozzle (.4 recommended, .6 works)
- import to slicer, block supports on the nut pocket (top)
- insert a pause at the last layer before the “cap” prints
- start print
- occupy yourself while you wait for the pause (watch some tech ingredients, make a coffee and let it get cold as you ponder creation, free palestine, etc)
- remove the nut that holds the vacuum chamber gauge to the lid
- on pause, insert nut. if it isn't flush or won't set, take your favorite directional heat source and metal bed scraper; set the nut, then slowly and push it into the part with the hot scraper until it's flush.
- one way or the other, if you hear any bumping, immediately babystep your z UP
- attach and enjoy your new life of careless valve slamming
you may need:
- heat source
- metal scraper
- to call your doctor if condition persists for more than 4 hours
i just left supports on. works fine, but make sure there's an airflow path before you print. printed mine in PETG.
this is my first upload. i am not an engineer, or 3d artist, or even that intelligent. i just figured i'd share this since it actually works. feel free to call me on my bad design, it won't get better otherwise.
