DIY ant trap using a Pringles can lid and a 3D-printed model. I have tried to incorporate features that make it both effective and user-friendly.

When dealing with pests, it's important to consider the safety. There is two handles, that makes sure you safely can get the lid off without touching the poison.

The base has is a sloped entry, making it easy for the ants to get up to the good stuff, and can have a solid grip as they drink it.

The Pringles lid serves as a window to look inside. This way you can easily tell if the bait is being taken and if you need to re-fill it, even without touching it.

I buy liquid poison (Loxiran - the blue stuff), but you can also make a powdered poison yourself:

  • 1 part Baking Soda
  • 1 part Icing Sugar

Baking soda can disrupt the ants' digestive system when ingested, leading to their demise. The sweetness of the icing sugar serves as bait, attracting the ants to the toxic mixture.

This model is printed i ASA in order to  prevent seepage of the liquid poison.
