Automated Zen - Modular

I started this project over a year ago and decided to revisit it when I was a bit better with modeling, well… I’m still not great, but seeing the zen garden contest pushed me to give it another try.

Edit 11/12/23 Tomorrow I’ll be adding an updated rake for the magnetic version, currently it only works well if the tolerance of the axle is perfect, the new rake will prevent this,

- I added a non magnetic version, just insert the rake, then slide the “No Magnets rake gear” onto the bottom under the table, then glue if needed.

the take is held to the axle with some 6x2 magnets and a locking system to prevent slip due to torque.

hopefully sometime this week I’m going to add some more rakes so you can easily swap them out for different effects and vibes! 

in order to keep everything centered and the torque even it uses two gear in the center to transfer The motion from the off center motor. This also add a but of wiggle room for the motor from the table, but there’s a spot for the attached metal axle to sit in the table.

the tolerance for the motor is very tight, this is to ensure the torque doesn’t budge it loose. If you’re using a different brand motor you may want to print with a high perimeter count so you have more to sand. 

technically the hole on the table is 10mm and therefore the axle should be around 10 (a tight fit is necessary to keep everything even) but for some reason my printed table measured in around 10.7 so I added a 10.5 version here, and may add a 11 as well if you want to just sand to fit to ensure the perfect fit.

Its powered by a TYC synchronous motor, I bought 3 on Amazon with plugs for $20 and will link them here in a bit
