A watering spout that fits a DIN28 PET bottle.
I know there are multiple variants of this available online already, but I always ran into the fact that the thread does not fit properly and they leak through the threads. I figured I'd design a new leak-free one that has the proper thread. It took me quite a while to figure out that the correct standard is called DIN28, and then when trying to figure out what that means I could not find a description of the standard. What I did find is a company that had their tolerances check published and that contained all the measurements. From there I figured out that this is almost 100% compatible with the ISO Trapezoidal 28*3 thread in Fusion360. (TR28x3)
The inside of the thread also contains a 22mm ring that locks on the inside of the bottle opening. You can find similar rings in a lot of bottle cap models (I recreated this ring from the inside of a Royal Club soda bottle), and it greatly helps in making a water tight seal. Because of this make sure to print in PETG, or another non-brittle material, as that ring needs to be a bit flexible. Also I recommend printing it slightly hotter than normal to make sure you have proper layer adhesion to prevent leaking from the side.
To be perfectly honest i do not know if this DIN28 bottle is used anywhere outside of the Netherlands and Germany (of whom I am sure we are standardized on this), but if you also run into a thread issue when you have tried the other ones than maybe this one will help you too. I designed this one from the ground up, but if you want to remix another one I hope the above threading info helps you out. Also if your country uses the DIN28 format too I would really appreciate if you would say so in the comments so other people can benefit from it.
Enjoy the model.
