Guitar kit parts from TL2 kit at Blackbeard's Den

  • 3x M3 threaded inserts for bridge
  • 3x M3 bolts for bridge ~30mm
  • 10x M4 threaded inserts for body optional
  • 10x M4 bolts ~25mm optional
  • 8x small screws for pickguard (used the ones that came in the kit)
  • Roll of double-sided copper adhesive tape (for cavity isolation) optional
  • Glue to join body parts (I used Gorilla Glue, sparingly)

I strongly advise printing out a few minimal test prints to save yourself time and money:

  • a cut-out section of the neck of MainBody to check the neck/body fit
  • a version of all parts with just the top few layers to check overall alignment

I printed most parts as 7 perimeters, with a 0.6mm nozzle, using Prusament PLA, or eSun PLA+, with eSun SilkPla for the pickguard. I had to shave down the elephant's foot that I forgot to compensate for, as a result of the high perimeter/top/bottom layer count.

Differences of the remix compared to the original

Rebuild/remix of the original, amazing Prusacaster from @MikolasZuza, with very close reference to the work done by the talented @trudslev. I added additional threaded joins between the body parts, intended to be connected using M3 threaded inserts (such as the popular ones available from CNC Kitchen via Amazon)

I also used M4 bolts for the 3-hole bridge, and slanted the neck hole to match the slightly tapered neck in the kit. The bridge pickup is a different shape and position from the source projects, so I also enlarged the cavity to accomodate this, and altered the Pickguard shape to match the hex tileing pattern. I also added holes for threaded inserts and bolts for strap buttons. My suggestion is to add generous infill modifiers around the threaded inserts (70-100%), but particularly around the strap button holes.

The biggest flaw in the Prusacaster is the sharp hex section of the body which scrapes the forearm - if I were to redo my adjustments, I would add a smoothed, cut-out section around the top body curve to make it more comfortable. But it does look cooler with the original shape.
