This is a fixed stock for the Unicorn metal long spring upgrade kit. Split clamp design secures it to the new spring housing.
Once the metal upgrade kit is installed, slide this stock over the new spring housing tube, position at the desired length (ensure the tube is inserted past the clamping bolts). The stock should be a close fit but not a struggle to slide on. Tighten the 2 clamping bolts until there is light resistance against the tube. Check the vertical alignment, reposition as needed, and tighten until secure.
Please remember that this is printed and overtightening can damage the parts. I have not needed an internal block to support the stock, but you may wish to add something if you are concerned about the stock collapsing.
I'd appreciate any feedback that you might have for this design - thanks in advance!
Requires:
2pcs - M3 x 10mm-16mm SHCS (for attaching the butt plate; 12mm recommended, 16mm is the absolute max)
2pcs - M3 x 20mm SHCS (for securing the split clamp)
2pcs - M3 Hex Nut (standard or lock-nut, but be careful with nylon lock nuts as they may turn in the print if the nylon provides too much resistance)
Misc:
Recommend printing in PETG or ABS/ASA for high layer adhesion and durability. Strength of the parts and installation will vary depending on your filament, settings, printer, etc.
Use at your own risk, of course.
And yes, it's based on a hexagonal profile instead of octagonal… I was too lazy to go back and change it, but if someone really wants me to, I could be coaxed into redoing it…
