PDFThis is another remix of the Omega Boomerang, using the "bent stick" technique shown in the video below. Other than in the Keyhole Omega Boomerang, this one just has a slightly tighter elbow angle without changing the overall shape too much.
The one I have printed so far at 90% size has a surprisingly large range (45-50 meters, I'd guess) with an easy flick throw.
How I Designed This
Treating the boomerang as a straight stick with an airfoil that is deformed along a curve makes it very easy to manipulate the overall shape without the need to push around a lot of individual vertices.
Basically, you just need to nudge around two of the control points of the curve that defines the overall shape.Tags
