Description

Suzuka Circuit, located in Mie Prefecture, Japan, is steeped in motorsport history. Its origins trace back to the late 1950s when the track was initially designed as a test facility for Honda.

In 1962, it hosted its first race and quickly gained a reputation for its challenging figure-eight layout, featuring the unique overpass bridge. Suzuka became a staple on the Formula 1 calendar in 1987, known for hosting the Japanese Grand Prix and delivering some of the most memorable moments in the sport's history. Notably, the 1989 and 1990 clashes between Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost at Suzuka remain etched in the annals of Formula 1 lore.

The circuit's mix of high-speed straights and demanding technical sections continues to captivate racing fans and drivers alike, making Suzuka an enduring icon in the world of motorsport.
