Print Settings
Printer: Prusa i3 MK3S+
Rafts: No
Supports: No
Nozzle: 0.4 mm
Resolution: 0.2 mm
Infill: 15%
Infill type: Grid
Filament: PETG or PLA
Printed in: The white lid is printed in Clear Prusament PETG (not as clear as I want it!), the gray lid is printed in PLA and the box is in Jet Black Prusament PETG. PLA for the box should work great as well.
Notes:
No supports are needed if printed with 0.4 mm nozzle and with 0.2 mm layer height (or lower), but might be required if printed with a bigger nozzle or with a bigger layer height. I will experiment with variable layer height and I'll post an update.
Assembly
The hinges are a tight fit, so it is best if the lid is inserted from under the box, so it is guided by the slanted corners of the box part of the hinges and the slots in the lid part of the hinges. Tested with both PETG (the white lid) and PLA (the grey lid).
The slots are for 6 mm diameter, 3 mm thick magnets. I used magnets from this set, which I already have, but 6x3 magnets are widely available, so this shouldn't be a problem. The magnets should be glued with superglue.
[Update 20231109] Updated the lid with a slot in the hinges to allow for easier assembly and disassembly.
