Hueforge filament painting (5 colors) of a lighthouse.

The photo shows an actual print of the model (scaled down to 130x130mm).

I like the more cartoon-ish look when printed with matte filaments - you will get smoother transitions with non-matte filaments.

My first print of the full-size version (200x200mm, not shown here) used the following filaments:

  • PLA BambuLab Matte Charcoal
  • PLA Eryone Matte Navy Blue
  • PLA BambuLab Matte Mandarin Orange
  • PLA BambuLab Matte Lemon Yellow
  • PLA BambuLab Matte Ivory White

But other filaments that I have tried also work well... experiment with what you have! The photos show the following filaments:

  • Start with Black (photo: eSun PLA Matte Deep Black)
  • At layer #12 (0.68mm) swap to Navy Blue (photo: Eryone PLA Matte Navy Blue)
  • At layer #20 (1mm) swap to Orange (photo: Extrudr PLA NX2 Orange)
  • At layer #29 (1.36mm) swap to Yellow (photo: Eryone PLA Matte Yellow)
  • At layer #37 (1.68mm) swap to White for the rest (photo: eSun PLA Matte Milky White)

You will get smoother transitions with non-matte filaments.

The original STL is 200 x 200 mm. If you want to scale it down, please scale only X and Y - do not scale z (height).

Print with a layer height of 0.04mm and a first layer at 0.24mm. 100% infill (aligned rectilinear), 0.4mm nozzle. I recommend the slicer/speed settings from this Youtube video by the maker of Hueforge:

As usual, first slicing can take quite a while (> 2M triangles).
