Minn Kota trolling motors, some of them at least, have a GPS puck to use the trolling motor in virtual anchor mode. The puck connects to the motor using Bluetooth, and the only wiring it needs is 12V power.
These are typically installed on the front of the boat, but pulling wires through the hull is a massive PITA. Additionally, it requires a hole in the hull and it can easily be stepped on.
After reading the installation instructions I decided that it would be a lot better to mount it high on the T-Top where is it out of harm's way and a lot easier to run the cables. My T-Top is manufactured by Fishmaster and has a 2" diameter on the tubing.
I modeled and printed a part that clamps to the tubing and provides a surface to mount the puck on. I've had it for a few years now and I've never had an issue.
The part has a channel for the 12v wire to route to the puck.
I printed this in PETG at 100% infill as I do for most of my marine applications to ensure strength. I have been using this for 3 years now with no problems. The boat generally stays at the coast with a LOT of exposure to sun and salt water.
