The Hackerbox 096 is a two meter transceiver. This kit is fun to build and teaches a lot about how easy it is to build a simple radio like this. The box comes with a bare PCB and parts, that are easily assembled but it does not have rubber feet or anything for the back of the board to keep it from possibly contacting a conductive surface and then malfunctioning.

I designed this box by measuring the PCB and laying it out in TurboCAD 3D.

Relevant details if you want to re-create the design in your CAD program, the inner area is 83 x 88 mm, the corners have a 4mm radius. The outer area is 89 x 94 mm and have a 7mm radius. The base is 3mm thick, the walls of the box are 3mm. The box is 8 mm “tall” or thick depending on how you measure things. There are two, 2mm “rails” along the left and right side that are 1.6mm below the top surface. They support the PCB and hold the pins that are sticking out of the bottom off the box. The interior hole is there to minimize plastic usage and decrease print time. It is a 53 x 58 mm box with 10mm radius corners.
