I really like the Filament Spool Winder by V3 Precision for its simplicity but I had a few issues with the threads so I changed the parts for the rear axle assembly to use square pegs instead. This has the added advantage of easier insertion of the gear rear drive as you do not need to spin it (along with the large gear) to put it in place.

These are the three parts that have been modified:

  • axle_rear_2.stl
  • gear_rear_drive.stl
  • cap_thumb_axle_2.stl
     

All of the other parts are the same, so grab them from V3 Precision. The files I modified all have a “Square” prefix in the filename.
