This is a redesign of the famous Print-in-place Stackable Cable Winder.
The original design has a weak spot: The walls of the core are rather thin and tend to break easily. This redesign has a different core with thicker walls, better tolerance settings and solves all of the reported problems.
Since the original version only holds thin USB cables up to 1m, a medium and large version have been added for longer and thicker cables. All sizes can be stacked due to identical core diameter and handle size.
Choose your desired outline: knurled, smooth or rounded. All versions are compatible with each other.
Dimensions (without handle, rounded ones are slightly larger in diameter):
Small (original): Ø 50 mm x 32 mm
Medium: Ø 60 mm x 40 mm
Large: Ø 70 mm x 48 mm
Print in Place, No Supports, PLA+ recommended.
Print with low temperature and 2 perimeters only to minimize fusing due to excessive heat. For improved stability, set 100% infill for core in the middle region only (7-25mm for small, 11-29mm for medium, 15-33mm for large).
To break loose (if required): find out which side has fused, try to push on top or bottom, do not use excessive turning force. On bottom side turning with a 2€ coin and pliers can be helpful.
Fusion 360 Files included. The f3z is a configured solution (and needs a full Fusion license), the f3d is parametrized (radius/height for small: 25/32mm, medium 30/40mm, large 35/48mm).
The author remixed this model.
Complete redesign with similar outer dimensions for compatibility. All stability and printability issues have been fixed. New, stronger core, new outlines and two enlarged versions (medium and large).
