Other helicopters in the series:
“More wood!” was probably a guiding principle of the 2018 re-design of the helicopter. The body and tail are now one piece. The helicopter is bigger too. Personally, I prefer a scaled-down version, otherwise this helicopter looks overgrown among other Harolds. You can find the scaled-down version of the helicopter later on this page.
I also need to note that I only had the body of the helicopter to model after. Thus, the skids I list here are from the previous series. Take them from this page though, because they are re-dimensioned to fit the 2018 body of the helicopter. The propeller, on the other hand, can and should be taken straight from the 2013 version of the helicopter.
See Thomas Wooden Railway Wiki for more information on Harold helicopters.
The helicopter consists of three parts: Body, Skids, and Propeller. They attach using #6 pan head and flat head screws. Read the description for the suggested screw type and length. Stainless steel screws (18-8) are my favorite. You should have no problem sourcing these from a hardware store.

2018 Body (+Tail).stl | This is the full-size body with integrated tail with fins. Print it on a side, and enable automatic supports. They will support the fillet around the body. However, make sure to delete supports for the four smaller screw holes: one on top for the propeller and three holes under the body for the skids and an optional magnet. |
2018 Body (+Tail NoFins) | If your child likes to hold the helicopter in the mouth by the tail, you might want this version of the body. It has an integrated tail without the fins. Print it on a side, and enable automatic supports to support the fillet around the body. Then, delete supports for all four screw holes: one on top and three on the bottom. |
2018 Skids (Mod 2013 Short Solid NoMag).stl | Series 2013 based skids with solid runners. Print in a natural position with runners on the build plate. Enable automatic supports to support the platform. Attach to the helicopter body with two ½" long #6 flat head screws. |
This helicopter body was scaled to be 0.95 of the length and 0.85 of the height and width of the original. There are also the matching skids. Otherwise, same instructions as for the full-size model apply.

2018 Skids (Scaled) (Mod 1994 Short Solid NoMag Slot).stl | Series 1994 based skids with solid runners. They look really cool with the scaled body of this helicopter. Print in a natural position with runners on the build plate. Enable automatic supports to support the platform. Attach to the helicopter body with two ½" long #6 flat head screws. |

Original 2018 Helicopter Parts
I only have the body of this helicopter, so here it is.

2018 Body&Tail (Raw NoFillet).step | Raw wooden body, modelled in 3D. It has no fillets, no holes, and is in STEP file format for a CNC machine. |
2018 Body (Orig).stl | The original body with fillets and holes modelled in 3D. |
