3d model I made of the Sandevistan from Edgerunners for my David Martinez cosplay at this year's Halloween party. The design was based off one particular frame, it's not exactly prop quality, but I couldn't find any free models online, so I figured I might as well share my attempt at it.

The model itself has space for a microcontroller and some LEDs, but it's quite a tight fit, I run an esp32s2 mini and an 18650 battery under the top plate, the esp barely fits along with the LEDs.
The LEDs face downward and some white paper makes for a crude diffuser. The esp runs a modified version of wled, so I can make the LEDs respond to music, which is ideal for when I take this bad boy to the Halloween party.

The connectors are separate since I was kind of sceptical about an upright print, unless I was using resin. They are more of a placeholder though, since the actual prop is held on by magnets to my back.

3D printing settings

Printed on Creality Ender 3 Pro at 0.16mm and 60 mm/s.
I suggest variable layers or smaller resolution for the top of the middle parts, so the layers are less noticeable, but I kind of liked the textured effect it created, so I kept it.

Model origin

The author marked this model as their own original creation.
