This case allows you to (manually) adjust the focus of a Trust Trino HD webcam (available for ~€10 on Amazon) and mount it on a flat surface, rotatable in one or two axes (tilt or pan and tilt). With this case, the webcam becomes quite perfect for monitoring your 3D printer. Note that this mod will, most likely, void any warranty on the webcam.

Note that you may want to mirror the mounts with cable clamps to fit your intended mounting (the black “2-Axis Mount 1” part in the second model photo is mirrored from the original model). You can also probably mirror the “Case” part if you want the cable coming out from the other side of the camera (routing the cable there has not been tested).

Additional Hardware Needed
  • 1x Trust Trino HD webcam ;)
  • 2x M3 (preferably flathead/countersunk) screws, 6-10mm long
  • 2x M3x6 (preferably Socket Head/SHCS) screws
  • (optional) 2x 3mm (preferably) flathead/countersunk screws (for mounting the camera to a surface)
Assembly Instructions
  1. Open the original case by unscrewing two screws in the back (one may be covered by a QC sticker).
  2. Pull the front panel from the original case and unplug the microphone (attached to the front panel) from the circuit board.
  3. Unscrew the circuit board from the case. Keep the screws!
  4. Unplug the USB cable from the circuit board.
  5. Carefully cut the case around the USB cable without cutting the cable itself, so that you can get the cable out of the case.
  6. Carefully cut away the blobs of glue on the lens/focus knob until you can rotate it by hand.
  7. Attach the focus wheel (don't worry about making it stick on, it will be kept in place by the front panel in the next step).
  8. Turn the circuit board around and attach it to the new front panel with the screws it was attached with in the original case (step 3).
  9. Attach the USB cable and route it like this:
  10. Add the new case over the circuit board and cable (make sure the cable fits in the cutout and isn't pinched by the case) and screw it shut using two (preferably flathead) M3 screws from the front.
  11. Attach the desired mount using two M3x6 screws on the side(s) of the case.
  12. Attach where desired using two (preferably flathead) 3mm screws.
