Baratza Forte porta filter holder which using the scale

I'm quite satisfied with my 3D-printed modification that enables me to utilize the Baratza Forte's scale alongside the Quickmill sieve (you can find it here). 

However, I've been pondering why Baratza's designers and engineers disable the scale when using their portafilter holder inlay, and whether there's an intelligent or straightforward solution to enable both the portafilter holder and dosing by weight.

In pursuit of this, I designed this custom portafilter holder as a 1st feasibility study: 

The “odd wings” are used to balance the weight of the portafilter and with their pins it's possible to add up some additional weight to keep other manufactors products in balance as well. 

While it already functions in some way, it lacks stability and approaches the upper weight limit for accurate measurements when combining all components, including the adapter, portafilter with sieve, dose funnel and coffee.

There's room for further refinement, such as e.g. reducing the weight of the 3D prints or have some cut outs and holes. Nevertheless, for now, I intend to maintain my existing workflow, utilizing the sieve with my 3d printed Baratza Adapter and Quickmill funnel. 

But in case You like to continue I would love to see some more iterations on this ;-)
